A: As in every case, depends on your priorities and preferences. Some recent time in a 5 suggested to me that BMW might be edging back to the 'good, ol' days' when the cars felt just right. The dreaded iDrive seemed ever-so-slightly less obtuse and thus easier to use (or ignore). The MT version I drove had nice clutch action, agreeable shifting and seemed a lovely blend of daily driving ease and get 'er done energy. But the Infiniti M37 is attractive on many fronts, too.
