If you've ever been on a .gov site and thought, "Hey, this site could be a lot better," we want to hear from you. As part of President Obama's Campaign to Cut Waste and the Administration's overall commitment to improving customer service, we're taking a fresh look at how government information and services are delivered on the Internet.
The National Dialogue on Improving Federal Websites is a two-week, online dialogue that began September 19 and lasts until the end of this week, September 30. During the first week, people from across the country have submitted over 250 ideas, 850 comments, and 4,000 votes. They’ve shared exciting ideas on a range of topics, such as improving content, readability, and design, search, accessibility, online services, and how agencies are using social media. A number of people outside government, such as Craig Newmark of Craigslist, have joined the conversation as "discussion catalysts," to help spur a wide range of ideas. Your ideas can make a difference. A special .gov Task Force will review the ideas and consider them as they develop a National Web Strategy and make recommendations for managing federal websites more efficiently, strengthening federal web policy, and improving the online customer experience.
