ENVIRO-TIP OF THE MONTH
January is National Radon Action Month. Test your home for radon, an invisible radioactive gas that causes lung cancer. Testing is the only way to know whether your home contains high radon levels.

Volkswagen Update - Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche have agreed to recall 83,000 model year 2009 - 2016 3.0 liter diesels vehicles alleged to be equipped with "defeat devices" to cheat emissions tests. Consumers with affected vehicles can submit a claim and sign up for email notifications for when options become available. Eligible consumers will have until September 1, 2018, to submit a claim.

2016 Enforcement Results - During the 2016 fiscal year - October 1, 2015 to September 30, 2016 - EPA secured $13.7 billion in investments by companies for projects to control pollution, and commitments for the proper treatment or disposal of an estimated 62 billion pounds of hazardous waste. - P3 Applications Open (due Feb 3) - It's the 14th annual People, Prosperity and the Planet (P3) Student Design Competition!
