In May the company acquired a little known aggregator called Krillion, for $3.5 million and launched Spreebird, their entrant into the daily deals space. In July they snagged Screamin’ Daily Deals for 12.5 million, effectively extending their reach to brick and mortar merchants in 14 new markets.   Now Local.com has announced that they have secured a $12 million revolving credit facility from Square 1 Bank.   Groupon Acquires Ruby on Rails Developer Obtiva Julie Mossler, Groupon’s director of communications, announced on Groupon's blog today that they have acquired Chicago-based Obtiva, a Ruby on Rails software development firm.   We’ve been working side-by-side with our Obtiva colleagues since way back in 2009, when Groupon had a handful of engineers. Today, many of our 600W development teams have Obtivians on them (and several are led by Obtivians.) We decided to stop living in sin and tie the knot.
