Recent political events in Libya, Côte d'Ivoire and Sudan topped the agenda during talks today between General Assembly President Joseph Deiss and Security Council President Li Baodong at United Nations Headquarters in New York.
Mr. Deiss and Mr. Li, the Permanent Representative of China, which holds the rotating Council presidency this month, also discussed the Assembly's upcoming debate on the green economy, according to information released by Mr. Deiss' spokesperson.
"The two Presidents noted the importance of further strengthening the coordination and interaction between the General Assembly and the Security Council," the spokesperson added.
Mr. Deiss also briefed Mr. Li on his recent official visit to Finland and Russia.
