Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will be in Washington, D.C., on Thursday to discuss with United States officials the work of the United Nations in a number of critical areas, his spokesperson announced today.
Mr. Ban last travelled to the US capital in late February, when he held talks with President Barack Obama on the situation in Libya and paid a visit to the Holocaust Museum.
During this week's visit, he expects to meet with key legislators in the Senate and the House of Representatives, including members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, UN spokesperson Martin Nesirky told reporters.
The Secretary-General will also meet with US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.
