Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has sent his condolences to the families of the victims killed in a sunken navy ship off the coast of the Republic of Korea, as the search continues for 46 people still missing.
The Secretary-General "expresses his condolences at the time to the families of the victims, and to the Government and the people of the Republic of Korea," his Spokesperson''s office said on Saturday in a statement.
Mr. Ban, who is a national of the Republic of Korea, is aware that the incident is being investigated, the statement continued.
According to media reports, the ship went down in the Yellow Sea late on Friday with 104 crew members on board.
